Employment

We have a variety of employment options at Create-Ability. In general our Residential Support Staff provide assistance to one to three individuals in the consumers’ home and in the community. The types of assistance vary with the needs of the individuals and may include:

  • Preparing meals
  • Grocery shopping and household chores
  • Providing daily personal care
  • Support in community activities
  • Helping to maintain physical and emotional health
  • Transportation

Support staff positions may be full-time or part-time, and include live-in, as well as regular come-in shift staff and/or drop-in support. Most of the residential positions involve morning, evening, overnight and/or weekend hours, with few positions involving daytime hours. If you are interested in daytime hours, you may want to consider our vocational program,Channels to Employment. Channels has a staff of Job Coaches who assist individuals at their places of employment, volunteer sites and with community activities. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting individuals in completing job or volunteer tasks
  • Support in community activities
  • Job development as needed
  • Assistance with lunch/snacks
  • Transportation as needed
  • Personal cares as needed

We are looking for employees who are dedicated to assisting the individuals we support in achieving the life-style the individuals prefer. We expect our staff to assist individuals with dignity and respect, as well as follow their specific support needs. We are looking for staff who are interested in exploring new opportunities with people and helping them to be full members of the Madison area community.
